পীরগঞ্জে ক্রিকেট খেলার বাজিতে হেরে মায়ের নিকট দাবিকৃত ১০ হাজার টাকা না পেয়ে মুখ থেঁতলে দিয়েছে পাষণ্ড ছেলে। এতে মা পমেলা বেগমের মুখে ৭টি সেলাই দিতে হয়েছে। পড়ে গেছে ৪টি দাঁত।
ঘটনাটি ঘটেছে শনিবার রাতে উপজে'লার ভেন্ডাবাড়ী গ্রামে। পাষণ্ড ছেলের নাম তোতা মিয়া (২২)।
প্রত্যক্ষদর্শী ও পারিবারিক সূত্র জানায়, শনিবার সন্ধ্যায় ত্রিদেশীয় টি-টোয়েন্টি ক্রিকেট ম্যাচে ভেন্ডাবাড়ী বন্দরে আবদুল হা'মিদ ওরফে লাট্টু মিয়ার ছোট ছেলে তোতা মিয়া আফগানিস্তানের পক্ষে ১০ হাজার টাকা বাজি ধরে। তোতা বাজিতে হেরে গেলে তার মায়ের নিকট ওই ১০ হাজার টাকা দাবি করে। এতে মা পমেলা বেগম (৬৫) দিতে অস্বীকৃতি জানালে তোতা ক্ষি'প্ত হয়ে ওঠে।
একপর্যায়ে গ্লাস দিয়ে তার মায়ের মুখে উপর্যুপরি আঘা'ত করলে র'ক্তাক্ত অবস্থায় তিনি মাটিতে লুটিয়ে পড়েন। পরে অ'পর ছেলে রায়হান মিয়া ও গ্রামবাসী তাকে উ'দ্ধার করে পীরগঞ্জ স্বাস্থ্য কমপ্লেক্সে ভর্তি করে।
মা পমেলা বেগমের মুখে ৭টি সেলাইসহ ৪টি দাঁত পড়ে যায়।
ইতিপূর্বেও মা পমেলা বেগমের জমি বিক্রি করা ৯০ হাজার টাকা তোতা মিয়া দু’দফা চুরি করে। ওই টাকাও বাজিতে হারে তোতা মিয়া।
